It's now official, I have the 1099 and everything to prove it.
They did a nice write-up of me, I put it in the side links but wanted to share it here with you all, since it really was YOU who helped me win.

In a day or two I will write up the thrilling tale of my latest illness. It involves a long-suffering doctor, a stricken cancer patient and a nurse who wasn't meant to be. Stay tuned.....

"it's not official" - did you mean it's NOW official?
ReplyDeleteYes, thanks! One of my most common typos "now" vs. "not." :)
ReplyDeleteI voted and voted for you, but I should just make a real donation. I will. It's selfish of me to wish for posts from you ALL THE TIME. PRICELESS writing and point of view. I hope you aren't experiencing real decline, said selfishly.
ReplyDeleteVoting for me is enough. Thank you very much!
DeleteYay Ann!!! I don't know what to do with myself every monring, so used to logging in and voting :) Great write up, so glad you won! Hope you are feeling better...
ReplyDeleteYippee!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad.

Awe, I am so happy that you won. I just watched your video and it had a profound effect on me. My husband is Stage IV and my very elderly mother just passed on to Heaven yesterday, and today I found myself quite unable to cope with anything, especially trying to figure out what would be best for my 93 year old father, now that he is alone. I felt so selfish and torn to have to admit to my brother that I cannot take him in. But I am at peace now, for I know my place is by my husband's side, making memories with our young adult children and their families, and LIVING the rest of his life here on earth. Thank you for the clarity. Sending all my love on the wings of a desert sparrow, Deborah
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear of your mother. I know it is hard but you have to do what is right for you and your family. There is only so much one person can do and taking on the role of caregiver for two people is way too much. So, no guilt. *hugs*
DeleteI'm glad that you won. Made my day! I hope that you're feeling better. No matter how dramatic this latest saga is, I have the strong suspicion that by the time that you are done telling it, we'll all be laughing helplessly.
ReplyDeleteAnn, I'm a first time commenter but daily voter. I'm thrilled you won. Your writing is fiercely intelligent, laser sharp insightful, and heartrendingly moving. I've told several of my closest friends about your blog and they are equally moved. I am fairly newly diagnosed with breast cancer (December bilateral mastectomy) and hysterectomy tomorrow morning. I'm not new to cancer. I was diagnosed with Stage IV thyroid cancer three years ago. I pull for you and your family every day. You are changing people and thus, the world, with you wisdom. God bless you and give you comfort and good days.
ReplyDeleteAnn, huge congrats on your win! And thank you so much for the blog, I just found it this afternoon prior to my first appt. w/surgeon tomorrow. Your detail, your humor, your truths are so helpful; I can't thank you enough.
ReplyDeleteYAY!!! I'm so glad you won!
